RepairShopr and Worldpay

This post was updated on 5/29/19

The following isn’t legal advice — any processor or bank may have their own rules. This is what we understand from talking to industry partners at great length. Please consult your merchant provider with this knowledge in hand.

We first partnered with Worldpay in 2015 to bring you a solid payments option. Our goal? Provide an integrated payment solution that’s secure and easy to use while balancing friendly service with low costs.

It’s a tall order and Worldpay has all of that covered. But besides being a good mix of great technology and friendly service, you might not know about some other cool features Worldpay offers. With Worldpay, you can:

  1. Accept the latest payment technology, like Apple Pay and mobile payments
  2. Setup recurring customer billing, making it easier for you to get paid
  3. Get paid on-the-go with the RepairShopr iOS/Android apps

All of this is available at one of the lowest rates you’re going to find. We used our processing volume to negotiate a special rate with no contract. Head to the App Center in your RepairShopr account to connect with Worldpay and see if they’re the right fit for you! Plus, if you’ve found a lower rate, you can contact Worldpay and they’ll try to meet or beat it. Pretty cool.

Easier Security and Compliance with Worldpay

So Worldpay has awesome rates and cool new features like Apple Pay covered. But beyond the cool stuff, the Payment Card Industry (PCI) is incredibly complex and changing often.

Our partnership with Worldpay helps make it easy for your business to be compliant with latest PCI regulations while helping keep you and your customer’s data secure. Our goal with this integration is that you can focus on running your business instead of trying to be payment security gurus.

We’ve mentioned security and compliance, but what does Worldpay actually help you do?

  1. Protect your business from data compromise with Peer-to-Peer Encryption (P2PE) and tokenization designed to secure data when in-transit (encryption) or at-rest (tokenization).
  2. Stay compliant with PCI regulations with the latest laws and regulations, so you can focus on your business instead of trying to become a security expert.
  3. Build trust with customers by protecting their data with the latest credit card processing technology, including EMV chip readers.

Here’s a summary of the different technology that Worldpay payment processing uses and how it helps protect you and your customers.

Technology Protects data… What this does
Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE) In-transit during initial transmission/swipe Removes cardholder data from your network when the data is going from the customer’s payment card into your system.
Tokenization In-storage Removes cardholder data from your network when it’s being storage.
EMV Chip Readers From fraudulent use at Point-of-Sale Reduces card-present fraud by validating a customer’s identity, while helping merchants avoid charge-back liability.

EMV Chip Readers and Reasons to Switch

In the past year or so, you’ve probably gone to pay for something with a credit card and been directed to insert your card into the machine instead of swiping it. What’s the deal with that, anyways?

EMV/Chip Card Readers are the new standard in smart card technology. They help protect businesses and consumers alike from financial loss due to fraudulent use of payment cards at a POS. But how?

Chip cards that are accepted in EMV terminals help fight fraud by generating a one-time code with every transaction making it nearly impossible to create counterfeit cards for use in stores.

Top reasons to upgrade to a chip reader:

  1. Fight fraud: Chip cards generate a one-time code with every transaction making it nearly impossible to create counterfeit cards for use in stores.
  2. Build customer trust: Since chip card readers offer heightened security, your customers can trust that you’re protecting their card data.
  3. Limit your fraud chargeback risk: Since October 2015, merchants are more likely to be financially liable for fraud, lost/stolen transactions at their in-store locations if they are not using chip card readers.
  4. Be on the cutting edge of new payment technologies: In addition to security features, chip readers also let you accept mobile payments like Apple Pay and Android Pay.
