A common request is “syncing to quickbooks” – we can come up with a simple way to export a file that quickbooks “offline” will take, but it doesn’t help the half of the shops that use quickbooks online, or all the other accounting packages out there.
We wanted to share a little about how one shop does their monthly books without the need for any syncing – it probably takes less time to do this than to use systems that sync!
The basic idea, you go once a month and create a sales receipt with a fake name on it, and make it as large as your entire month of sales.
Then your P&L is accurate, you can still generate many of the reports you might use from Quickbooks – and it only takes you as long as creating one sales receipt.
